And they wonder why Region D has trouble in the tourney. They let the teams play more physical in other regions. I'd say in the Honaker game GC alone had close to 40 fouls.
Do you know the actual foul count in the game? Just curious. Over 100 fouls were called in the JJ Kelly/Lee High games (both boys and girls - 51 called in the girls game alone at JJ Kelly. I think 57 fouls were called in the boys game alone against JJ Kelly at Lee High.

That's the real point, and it's been that way for years. The officiating in this area hampers the area teams in the tourney. For that reason alone it needs a serious addressing.

Yet most complain that they let them play football around here on the hardwood.

I've never heard that. Of course I no longer follow local B-ball at all. But back when I did all of the complaints were about the officials being whistle happy and back then you could see it plainly in the play of local teams at the next level.

The real complaints around here are that most refs will call a "body foul" on guy if his jersey touches a shooter's jersey....Then, turn around and watch a guy elbow another guy in the face. It's the inconsistancy.
I actually watched this happen at the Twin Springs/PV game. Twin springs point guard comes down the court unguarded...sort of fumbles the ball, then picks it up with both hands, drops it again(still unguarded), runs over dribbles once more, and picks up the ball. DOuble dribble from a million miles away...and here is what the ref does...runs over to him, and says "YOU CAN'T DO THAT" and play continues. Pathetic.
